Voices of Toondah

[Intro]
Over the bay where the curlews fly,
A tale of a win under Queensland sky.

[Verse 1]
In Toondah Harbour, where waters meet sand,
A fight began to protect the land.
BirdLife Australia stood strong, with the community’s hand,
Ten years of battle, to make a stand.

[Chorus]
Save the harbour, save the shore,
Voices cried out, "We’ll lose no more!"
The curlews call in the morning light,
Thanks to those who joined the fight.

[Verse 2]
Walker walked away, the wetlands are safe,
Thanks to the fight that the locals braved.
The team led the charge with heart so brave,
Nature’s guardians, steadfast and grave.

[Bridge]
Under the Ramsar skies, life weaves its tales,
Birds from afar, glide on the gales.
The laws were bent, yet justice prevails,
Together we’re strong, together we hail.

[Violin Solo]

[Verse 3]
With Plibersek’s words, the tide finally turned,
Lessons of care and respect were learned.
For every curlew that to Moreton returned,
A victory in the hearts that yearned.

[Chorus]

[Guitar Solo]

[Outro]
From dusk till dawn, the fight lives on,
Toondah’s song, a triumph sung.
Raise your voice, in nature’s choir,
Toondah’s tale, ignite the fire.

[Chorus]
Save the harbour, save the shore,
Voice
